Forge World's new Rhino/Predator reinforced armour kit

So I'm back again.
It's been a while since my last post, and it's mostly due to my moving to a new apartment. It took me a while to set up everything again, and I'm not completely done yet, but since I have started modeling and painting again, I might as well share my first impressions about new Predator/Rhino reinforced armour kit Forge World released last year.

As it usually happens with FW resin kits, the cast quality looks good, but the parts are twisted and warped out of shape. Especially the door parts, which have thin seams on the side, are currently looking the worst, while the track and turret plating really aren't that bad. At least they are whole (not missing any chunks) and bubble-less, so once they've been deburred and cleaned, the shape is nothing some dipping in a bowl of hot water can't fix.
Overall the resing kit is way better than its Land Raider counterpart, which was much worse to work with due to bad casting and general unmatching sizes.

As I intended to use them on my Razorbacks, I pre-assembled the Razorback model to the point where I could glue the armor on, and used the tank as a press-on reshaping bench, literally pressing the hot resing parts onto the tank until their intended shape was restored. Once that was done, everything matched perfectly.

Below is a picture of how the assembly looks, after priming. As you can see, the Razorback is also equipped with a Rhino dozer blade, also from Forge World.

Looking forward to posting more pictures about this model, and the next one coming up (building two of these actually), so stay tuned.
